Minneapolis Man Sentenced to Federal Prison For Armed Robberies
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minneapolis man has been sent to federal prison for a series of armed robberies.
The US Attorney for Minnesota says 30-year-old Keanu Ross was given a 17-1/2 year prison term for his conviction on charges of aiding and abetting interference with commerce by robbery, and using, carrying, and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. He was accused of robbing two convenience stores and a hotel in the Twin Cities in February 2020.
Court documents indicate an employee of one of the convenience stores was knocked to the ground and kicked in the face by Ross. He was also accused of firing a gun during the robbery of a Super 8 Hotel in Brooklyn Center. It was alleged that he fired a single shot from a handgun after he ordered the employees of the hotel to run from the scene.
A 30-year-old woman has also entered guilty pleas to federal charges for her involvement in the robberies. Federal prosecutors say a sentencing hearing for Antoinette Dobyne will be held at a later date.
