Minneapolis Police – Driver of SUV in Fatal Crash High on PCP
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - Bail has been set at a million dollars for a Minneapolis man who admitted to police he was high on PCP when he caused a traffic Thursday night that claimed the lives of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
36-year-old Mark Franklin has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide and two felony counts of criminal vehicular operation in connection with the death of the 35-year-old woman and her baby. The criminal complaint says she was in the 8th month of her pregnancy when the minivan she was in was smashed into by an SUV driven by Franklin, who witnesses reported was speeding in the wrong direction on a one-way street.
Minneapolis Police say Franklin was found sitting down across the street from the wrecked vehicles. He told officers he didn’t remember the crash.
