Minnesota Fugitive Sex Offender Caught in Texas
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) -- A fugitive with ties to a couple communities near Rochester has been captured in Texas.
The Minnesota Department of Corrections says it has confirmed 66-year-old Douglas Lynn Peterson is being held in the Guadalupe County Jail, located in Seguin, Texas, not far from San Antonio.
The department classified Peterson as a fugitive in mid-January when he left a house in Minneapolis where he had been under intensive supervision since his release from prison as a Level 3 sex offender in 2014. He was sent to prison in 2001 for sexually assaulting juvenile boys.
The statewide alert that was issued in January indicated Peterson has ties to Blooming Prairie and Hayfield.
