The Hiawatha-Valley-League Champions this year were the Cannon Falls Bombers but fellow conference member Pine Island captured the MSHSL Class AA title 2-1 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

The Panthers were outhit by the Glencoe-Silver Lake Panthers 8 to 4 in a game that lasted less than an hour and a half.

Lucas Sems, senior, threw 4 innings to start the game for the win and Talan Bond, junior, achieved a three-inning shutout save.

Sems also scored a run after tripling in the first inning and had the game winning hit in the bottom of the third inning.

Jaxson Hartzell, sophomore, hammered a double in the win as Pine Island played error free ball while their first run scored was unearned.

Nicholas Thein, junior, and Brandon Week, senior, each stole a base for Pine Island,

The Panthers ended their season with a 23-5 record and did not lose a single post season game.  Going 5-0 in the Section 1AA Tournament before their 1-0 win over Pierz in the quarterfinals at State in 8 innings.

Pine Island went nine innings to down Perham 6-2 in the Semifinals at Dick Putz Field.

Week was the winning pitcher in the first game allowing 4 hits over 7 innings.  Sems got the save.

Sems threw all nine innings for the Semifinals win.  Striking out 7, walking 0, throwing 114 pitches.

The MSHSL Class A Championship game was won by the Red Lake County Rebels 15-7 over the New Ulm Cathedral Grayhounds.

#5 seed Rebels finished their year 25-5, #2 seed Cathedral 23-3.

MSHSL Class AAA title game ended in a 6-2 victory for Mahtomedi over Mankato East.

#3 seed Zephyrs ended their campaign 18-7 while the Big Nine Conference Champion Cougars are 23-3.

MSHSL Class AAAA title goes to Cretin-Derham Hall following their 3-2 win over Minnetonka under the lights of Target Field.

The Raiders finish their season 22-4, Skippers 17-9.
