Minnesota High School Coach Placed on Leave

Kimball, MN (Learfield News Service) - The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a possible sexual assault involving the Kimball Area High School football coach and one of his players.

District officials say they are cooperating with law enforcement and coach Johnny Benson has been placed on administrative leave. That step was taken on October 10th.

The player told investigators he doesn’t remember what happened in the three hours before his mother found him alone in the locker room. He says the coach had been treating him for a lower back injury after practice.
