Minnesota Man Dies After Apparently Setting Himself Ablaze
Mounds View, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in a Twin Cities suburb are reporting that emergency responders were called to deal with a horrifying situation Thursday night.
Mounds View Police Chief Ben Zender has issued a news release on the incident, which started as a response to a domestic disturbance call. According to the statement, Mounds View police officers responding to the address were informed that a man was in the garden pouring gasoline on himself.
Chief Zender says, shortly thereafter, the officers were updated with information that the man had ignited the fuel. Firefighters and paramedics also responded to the scene to assist, and when they arrived, they discovered the man on the ground in the backyard, obviously deceased.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension dispatched a team of investigators to assist in processing the scene. Chief Zender says the investigation is ongoing.
