Minnesota Man Killed When His Car Was Sandwiched
Burnsville, MN (KROC AM News) - A Savage, Minnesota man was fatally injured Sunday evening when the car he was driving was rear-ended by a semi-truck and pushed into the trailer of another rig.
The victim was 82-year-old Richard Segers. The wreck happened on I-35 in Burnsville.
The State Patrol says Segers had just entered the interstate when a tractor/trailer that had been on the shoulder began to move into his lane. Segers attempted to move one lane to the left but was unable due to traffic. He then slammed on the brakes and a second tractor-trailer that was behind his car was unable to stop and rear-ended the vehicle. His car was then pushed into the rear of the first truck’s trailer. A passenger in the Segers vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was identified as 50-year-old Joseph Segers.
