Minnesota Police Officer Hurt in Crash at Intersection
Montevideo, MN (KROC-AM News)- A western-Minnesota police officer was brought to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.
The State Patrol responded to the collision at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 29 in Montevideo. It was reported shortly before 1:45 p.m.
The state crash report indicates the officer’s squad car was traveling east on Hwy. 7 and an SUV that was in the southbound lane of Hwy. 29 when the vehicles collided in the intersection. The Montevideo police officer, identified as 29-year-old Dustin David Hissam of Clara City, MN was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
28-year-old Danielle Catherine Bailey of Granite Falls was driving the SUV. She escaped the crash without injury.
The report says officer Hissam and Bailey were both buckled up and alcohol was not a factor in causing the crash.
