Minnesota School Bus Collides With Truck

Cottonwood, MN (Learfield News Service) - The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office is investigating a collision between a truck and school bus near Cottonwood.

Deputies say the bus carrying 41 Lakeview School District students was southbound when the pickup drifted into the north Friday afternoon on County Road 8.

The bus driver tried to avoid the pickup on the edge of the ditch but was struck on the driver's side. Both the truck and bus had major damage.

All the students were checked out at the scene and no injuries were reported.

The truck driver from Echo said he fell asleep and was cited for traffic violations.
