Falcon Heights, MN (Learfield News Service) - The Minnesota State Fair is reporting a new attendance record for opening day.

A total of 133,326 people passed through the gates Thursday and the mild weather is getting partial credit for the record turnout. The previous record of 122,695 was set on opening day 2018.

Last year's Great Minnesota Get-Together also set the all-time attendance record of 2,046,523 people. There is no rain in the forecast until Sunday evening.
