Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It was a deadly holiday weekend for the Minnesota State Patrol as it dealt with at least five fatal traffic wrecks.

The most recent happened Monday afternoon in Scott County.

The State Patrol report says a car driven by a Henderson man left Highway 19 and ended up in a ravine that was not visible from the road. The victim was identified as 75-year-old Francis Pivec, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

A Woodbury man was killed Monday morning after crashing his vehicle in rural Beltrami County. The State Patrol his vehicle left the road and crashed into a ditch. He was identified as 58-year-old Shaun Omalley.

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Monday after crashing in rural Fillmore County.

The State Patrol says 33-year-old Joseph Woxland of St Charles was driving on Highway 43 near Rushford around 4:30 pm when his motorcycle “left the roadway and crashed.” His injuries were described as life-threatening. A passenger identified as 31-year-old Natasha Gilbertson of St. Charles suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
