State Patrol: Minnesotans Should Have These 16 Items In Their Car
Minor accumulations can lead to major headaches. Light snow Tuesday led to over 150 crashes across southern Minnesota. According to WCCO, "The State Patrol recorded 164 crashes. Of those, 19 included an injury, but none of them, they said, were serious or fatal. There were also 72 crashes and spinouts, with 14 jackknifed semis." Slowing down will help reduce your chances of ending up in the ditch but doesn't necessarily guarantee that you won't.
We hope you never get stranded in subzero temps, but the possibility of that happening exists each winter in Minnesota. Another round of snow is possible across the region this weekend so it's a good time to check your winter survival kit. The Minnesota State Patrol says you should pack these 16 items in your car in case of an emergency:
