Red Lake Falls, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota woman was critically injured Friday morning while operating a golf cart.

The State Patrol says 74-year-old Janice Olson of Red Lake Falls was driving the golf cart on a city street in Red Lake Falls when she collided with a semi-truck that was traveling north on a two-lane state Highway highway that runs through the northern Minnesota community. The crash was reported around 9:30 AM.

The preliminary State Patrol crash report indicates the woman was transported to a hospital in Fargo with what were described as life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck, 53-year-old Lance Opdahl of Greenbush Minnesota, was not hurt.

It was the second injury crash involving a golf cart reported by the State Patrol this week. The earlier incident occurred Wednesday afternoon in a small southwestern Minnesota community.

The State Patrol says 75-year-old Janice Bakalyar of Lakefield was operating a golf cart on State Highway 86 on the south edge of the Jackson County town when she collided with a minivan traveling in the same direction.

Bakalyar was transported to a hospital in Spirit Lake Iowa with non-life-threatening injuries. The 15-year-old Lakefield girl driving a minivan was not injured.
