Minnesota Woman Sexually Assaulted During Home Invasion
Pequot Lakes, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two central Minnesota men are accused of pretending to be police officers and forcing their way into a cabin where one of them raped a woman.
According to the criminal complaint, the woman was at the residence in Pequot Lakes Sunday when two men appeared at the door and identified themselves as officers. They kicked open the door and after threatening the woman several times, one of the men sexually assaulted her.
The woman told police about the assault Monday.
The men were identified and one of them was arrested Tuesday. The complaint says 39-year-old Jeremy Haff of Pequot Lakes corroborated the woman’s statement. He was arraigned Wednesday on charges of impersonating an officer and burglary and his conditional bail was set at $100,000.
Police arrested 28-year-old Mason Headlee of Virginia, Minnesota Wednesday. He was arraigned Friday on criminal sexual conduct and burglary charges and one count of impersonating an officer. His conditional bail was set at $200,000.
Reports indicate the homeowner fled when the two arrived because the two men were going to assault him.
