The largest credit union in Minnesota has announced a merger that is coming in 2026. The announcement was emailed to members this morning.

The credit union in question is Wings Credit Union (formerly Wings Financial Credit Union), headquartered in Apple Valley, MN. The announcement says that they will be merging with a Colorado-based credit union called Ent Credit Union.

The merger will be officially completed in 2026. In the meantime, Yahoo Finance writes, "Members will not experience any immediate change, and the credit unions will continue to operate independently" during the merger process.

Yahoo Finance also writes that the CEO of Ent, Chad Graves, will be the CEO of the combined credit union once the merger is complete.

Is Wings Credit Union Going Away?

The fact that Ent's CEO is going to be the CEO of the combined credit union makes me think that Wings may be changed to Ent.

However, I'm not sure about that.

In the email to their members, Wings writes, "Pending approval from regulators and members, the newly formed credit union will retain the Wings Credit Union name".

So it sounds like the two credit unions will combine, Wings members will be able to use Ent locations and vice versa, but the two will keep their independent names.

Of course, a merger will eventually mean SOME changes, but it's unclear what those will be at the moment. The President and CEO of Ent, Chad Graves, told Yahoo Finance, "We remain local enough to care about our communities and large enough to offer outstanding experiences, products and services".
