Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – There may soon be yet another road project in downtown Rochester - this time for the benefit of bicyclists.

The City Council is scheduled to vote Monday on a request to seek bids to construct one-way pair bike lanes along 3rd and 4th Avenues between Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial Park/7th Street SW and 6th Street NW.

Plans also call for the construction of bike lanes along Center Street between Mayo Park Drive and 4th Ave SW.

The estimated project cost is $1.4-million with most of the money coming from DMC funds. The current schedule calls for construction to begin this fall and be completed next summer.

The council is also scheduled to act on the proposed transfer of a liquor license involving Target.

The operator of Barrel House Spirits is seeking to transfer its off-sale liquor license to Target Corporation. The business is being purchased by Target. The application says operations will be moved to a site to be constructed adjacent to the north Target store.

The planned opening date for the new location will be next summer.
