Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there has seemingly been little else people are talking about. One person, we shouldn't forget about, it Waseca Officer Arik Matson. Arik in his more recent CaringBridge update on March 14th was taking stairs three at a times and his therapists were struggling to keep up with him. All good news right? In a post from the West Concord Police Department, there is something else that can be done right now that can help Arik out. Motivational messages sent via video to Arik.

Part of the post made by the West Concord POlice Department reads,

"Officers from all over Minnesota have sat guard outside Arik’s room. The recent Covid-19 pandemic has made those details end, and with it, ended Arik’s contact with other officers and the regular words of encouragement for this Minnesota Hero.

That brings us to this request...

Please send a video to MatsonStrong@gmail.com Include your name, department and a brief message, the family will use the videos to show Arik throughout his rehab to keep him excited and pushing forward.

Please pass this message on! Let’s see the support and love from all over the country for this HERO!

It's amazing to see how far Arik has come since that January night in Waseca. Even in these uncertain times, we can all be #MatsonStrong.
