Oronoco, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcycle rider suffered what first responders are describing as serious injuries in a crash near Rochester.

The Pine Island Fire Department responded to the crash around 7:00 Saturday morning. 

A passerby reported seeing the motorcycle crash, according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin.

49-Year-Old Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Losing Control and Crashing into Ditch at Oronoco Intersection

The motorcycle crash occurred in the 10000 block of 18th Avenue NW, which is east of Oronoco and west of Lake Zumbro. 

Preliminary information indicates the motorcycle crashed at the intersection of 18th Ave. NW and 100th St. NW. 

Parkin said the rider, who was conscious when first responders found him, reported he had lost control and entered the ditch sometime overnight.

Motorcycle Operator Described as 49-Year-Old Man

The Pine Island Fire Department is describing the injured rider as a 49-year-old man. His name has not been released. 

The motorcycle operator was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. An update on his condition is not available.

The Minnesota State Patrol also responded to the motorcycle crash.
