Motorist Arrested Following Fatal Crash Near Austin
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Mower County Sheriff's Office is reporting the arrest of a 31-year-old Austin man in connection with a fatal traffic crash late Thursday afternoon.
Officials say he was driving a pickup that collided with a minivan at a rural intersection about a mile south of Austin shortly after 5 PM. The driver of the minivan, who has only been identified as a 90-year-old man from Mower County, was killed in the crash.
A spokesman says the pickup driver and his passenger were not injured. The driver is suspected of being impaired and taken into custody pending the results of a blood test. His name has not been released.
