MSHSL State High School Baseball Tournaments begin Thursday, June 13, 2024 at various sites in Minnesota.

Class 1A and Class 2A games are played at the same complex in St. Cloud.

Class 3A contests will utilize Chaska Athletic Park.

Class 4a teams enjoy CHS Field in St. Paul.

Class 1A top seed Cherry Tigers (20-3) won the Class 1A basketball title in March.  Many of the same guys will be on the baseball diamond including future University of Minnesota basketball player Isaac Asuma.

Asuma is an excellent pitcher and is listed as a utility player on the Tigers roster in the state tournament program.

Cherry High School is in Irondale with a total of 142 students in the school.  Only losses were twice to South RIdge, once to New York Mills and they avenged those.

The Tigers will play 3:30 p.m. against Lac qui Parle Valley Eagles (17-6) on Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud.  This the Eagles second trip to state, Cherry's third.

Tournament starts with #2 seed Parkers Prairie Panthers (23-1) drawing heritage Christian Academy out of Minneapolis (17-4) at 10:30 a.m.

Panthers are making their fourth appearance with a title in 2017 and runner-up finish in 2016.

The Hawks were champions in 2018.  Their only other trip to state in baseball.

1:00 p.m. #3 seed Lyle/Pacelli Athletics (19-3) battle with Sacred Heart Eagles (19-3) out of East Grand Forks.

The Athletics were runner-up to Fosston last season.  Their only other trip as Lyle/Pacelli.  The Austin Pacelli Shamrocks went to state in 1983.

6:00 p.m. #4 seed Springfield Tigers (22-2) will compete against #5 seed New York Mills Eagles (19-5). Both have made many trips to the big show.  The Tigers are making their 11th appearance with a title in 2016 and runner-up finishes in 1948 and 2015.

The Eagles have flown to state in baseball 10 times with runner-up finishes in 2004, 2014, 2019 and 2021.

Class 4A opening game at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at CHS Field in St. Paul will feature #2 seed Farmington TIgers (24-3) facing Forest Lake Rangers (13-11).

This is the Tigers 4th appearance at state with a championship in 2021 and runner-up finish in 2022.  The Rangers have been to state in baseball 11 times with second place finishes in 1993 and 2017.

1:00 p.m. #3 seed, defending State Champion East Ridge Raptors (18-6) will play against Eastview Lightning (14-13).  East Ridge of Woodbury is making their third trip and have won titles last year and in 2019.

Eastview of Apple Valley is also enjoying their third trip with a title in 2012.

4:30 p.m. top seed Wayzata Trojans (24-0) the only remaining undefeated team in the state will go up against St. Cloud Crush (19-5)  This is the Trojans sixth trip with a title in 2016.

The Crush are a combination of students from St. Cloud Tech and St. Cloud Apollo.

7:30 p.m. scheduled first pitch between #4 seed  Minnetonka Skippers (17-7) and #5 seed Mounds View Mustangs (18-8)

Skippers have been to state in baseball 14 times, Mustangs have galloped there 11 times.

Minnetonka has no titles according to MSHSL records.  Mounds View became champions in 2013 and 2014.
