
Fatal Fillmore County ATV Crash Victim ID’D as Kingsland High School Football Player, Track Athlete & Singer
Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News)- The teenage victim of a fatal ATV crash in Fillmore County over the weekend had been identified as a southeast Minnesota high school football player, track athlete and singer.
16-Year-Old Kingsland High School Student Dies in ATV Crash Near Fountain
A news release issued Sunday by the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the ATV crash around 2:15 Saturday afternoon. It happened on a private property east of Fountain.

Deputies found the teen driver unresponsive. He was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester where he was pronounced dead, authorities say.
The teenage crash victim has been identified as 16-year-old Nathaniel Drees.
Drees was also named to the 2026-27 MMEA All-State Honors Choir.
Prayer Vigil Planned
A prayer vigil is planned for Drees on Monday. It’s happening at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, located at 213 W Franklin St. in Spring Valley. The vigil begins at 6:30 p.m.
Monday would’ve been Drees’s golden birthday.
Kingsland School District Superintendent Scott Klavetter says the district will “work with our counselors and staff to make plans to support our students and honor Nathaniel's legacy in the days, weeks, and months ahead.”
