NEW: Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura Becomes MN Governor Documentary
Jesse 'The Body' Ventura was sworn in as Minnesota Governor twenty-five years ago this month, in January of 1999.
The anniversary is being celebrated with a new documentary film following his rise from professional wrestling to major political office holder.
Jesse Ventura Shocks The World' premieres tonight (TUE 1/16) on Twin Cities PBS, and on demand on the TPT PBS app.

Ventura, a former U.S. Navy Seal, transitioned into professional wrestling, and then again transition into politics -- becoming Minnesota's 38th governor.
It's worth noting that between his wrestling and political careers, Ventura spent some time acting, appearing in a number of movies including Predator (1987), Zorro (1991) and more -- plus a cameo on The X-Files.
Oh, and Ventura was also a bodyguard for The Rolling Stones in the late 1970s and 1980s.
On a side note (that doesn't appear in his biography), I worked at a video store in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota in the 1980s and he & his wife were members.
