Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man with a history of exposing himself in the presence of children is headed back to prison because he failed to register as a predatory offender.

Previous Prison Sentence

Olmsted County court records state that 57-year-old Steven Albert Dorweiler was required to register as a predatory offender after he was convicted of a felony indecent exposure charge in Goodhue County in 2024. He was also handed a 51-month prison sentence but was given credit for the 439 days he spent in jail following his arrest in Red Wing.

Prior Indecent Exposure Convictions Detailed in Court Records

In that case, multiple witnesses told police that he exposed himself and performed a lewd act in a park where a child was in the company of adults at a playground. His most recent conviction in Olmsted County stems from an address verification check on Dorweiler that was conducted in April of last year. The criminal complaint indicates that he had recently listed a new address in Rochester, and the officer sent to verify the registration was told that Dorweiler had left.

Authorities Say Offender Absconded From Registered Address

The court document says attempts to contact Dorweiler failed, and his probation agent informed the police department that he had absconded from his registered Rochester address. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody in August of last year.
