It's been under construction along West Circle Drive near Walmart North since early last fall, and now, the newest urgent care, walk-in clinic is set to open Wednesday in northwest Rochester.

According to a news release, the new MedExpress Urgent Care walk-in clinic is scheduled to open on Wednesday, February 28th. And rather than head over to the emergency room at St. Marys, this new clinic offers a new urgent care alternative that's been missing in southeast Minnesota.

"The center in Rochester will care for people of all ages, providing urgent care, employer health services and basic wellness and prevention services. Walk-in treatment is available for everyday illness and injury – including treatment for common winter ailments such as colds, flu, ear infections, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis and strep throat – as well as more advanced services including X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains," the release said.

The release said the new location-- the first in Rochester-- will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Interestingly, when Chateau Road was being reconstructed, a DIFFERENT business was originally thought to be building there.)

A special open house is happening Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. And, they're also offering free sports physicals to patients ages 5 and up from Feb. 28 to March 13. You can read more about MedExpress Urgent Care HERE.
