Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -The Olmsted County Board is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a recommendation to award a bid for new traffic lights on W. Circle Dr.

The lights are planned to be installed at the intersection of W. Circle Dr. and 3rd St NW in the Country Club Manor neighborhood.

The county has studied the project for several years after a young girl was killed at the intersection.  A pedestrian bridge was given serious consideration but that proposal was rejected because of costs and other issues.

The board is being asked to approve a bid of just over $364,000 submitted by Premier Electric Company.

The county wants the project completed before school begins this fall.
