Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fire during the final night of 2025 sent one person to the hospital in Rochester.

The Rochester Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
A news release issued by the fire department says responding firefighters found smoke and fire coming from the entryway of a split level home.

One Person Taken to Hospital Following New Year' Eve Fire at Northwest Rochester Home
The fire occurred in the 3600 block of Nottingham Dr. NW. Officials say the fire was contained in the home’s front entryway but was beginning to spread to other parts of the home.
Crews then extinguished the fire, searched the home and ventilated the structure.
One occupant from the home was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for an evaluation of burn injuries, the news release says.
Officials did not release the person’s name and did not say how many people were in the home. The news release does not say if the cause of the fire has been identified.
The fire damaged the home’s front entryway and living room. Smoke damage was reported throughout the residence.
Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Rochester Police Department also responded to the fire.
