Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The Rochester City Council has decided not to extend the hours of liquor stores to conform with state law.

The Council Wednesday night considered allowing the stores to remain open until 10 p.m. Monday - Saturday but decided against making any changes.

Under the current ordinance, the stores must close at 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 9 p.m. on Friday and 10 p.m. on Saturday

The council did approve a change in the ordinance that will allow breweries and brewpubs  to sell carry-out beer until 10 o’clock every night of the week.
