Work on the road was supposed to start in late June/early July. It’s the second phase of the project to rebuild the heavily-traveled road, which had a price tag of more than $24 million when it was announced.

Phase One of the North Broadway Reconstruction Project began in the Spring of 2021. Crews added areas dedicated to foot and bicycle traffic along the major corridor from Civic Center Dr. to the Silver Lake Bridge.

City of Rochester Communications and Engagement Coordinator Meagan Moeller tells KROC News that the start of the second phase of the project was pushed back by a delay of federal funding approval.

When Will Phase 2 of North Broadway Reconstruction in Rochester Start?

She says the funding stream has gotten the green light and that the bidding process is now open until the end of August.

Moeller said limited work on the busy road could still happen in 2024, however the majority of the construction is now expected to take place in 2025.
