(Update) Section of North Broadway in Rochester Reopens After Being Closed Due to to Flooding
Update: The road back open
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Flooding caused by this afternoon's torrential rains have prompted the temporary closure of North Broadway in the construction zone.
The Rochester Public Works Department this afternoon announced that barricades have been erected to keep traffic off North Broadway between 14th Street and Elton Hills Drive. Signs identifying a detour have also been put in place.
The heavy rains have cause localized flooding in the construction zone and surrounding areas. City officials say the closure will remain in effect until the water levels recede.

The localized flooding is taking place with the city is currently reconstructing the busy north-south roadway, where traffic is currently scheduled to switch from the northbound lanes to the southbound lanes this weekend.
