St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Minnesota was steady last month at 2.8-percent, which is level that hasn't been seen in almost 2 decades. While there was no change from September, the jobless rate was down a half percentage point when compared to October 2017.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says the state saw a net gain of 3400 jobs in October as the number of unemployed Minnesotans fell to just over 86,000. That is the lowest that figure has been since the start of the last recession.

Over the past 12 months, Minnesota has seen a net gain of nearly 36,500 jobs for a growth rate of 1.2-percent. The national average in October was 1.7-percent.
