Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem Launches Re-election Effort

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Long-time Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem is seeking a fifth term in office.
He issued a news release Thursday afternoon announcing his intention to seek re-election in the November general elections. Ostrem was first elected as the county's top prosecutor in 2016 when he defeated the previous long-time County Attorney Ray Schmitz.
In announcing his reelection campaign, Ostrem indicated his priorities would include strengthening his office's relationship with local schools and cracking down on gun violence by taking a "hard stand on illegal possession of firearms in the use of weapons and violent crimes."
The filing period for candidates seeking offices in the fall elections opens next Tuesday and runs through the end of the month.
