Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Olmsted County has released the latest draft of an update to the county's General Land the Use Plan.

A news release from the county Planning Department says the long-range document, which is updated every five years, is now available for public review on the Olmsted County General Land Use Plan website. The draft update "reflects changes in population, employment, land-use projections, assumptions, and policy."

“The Olmsted County General Land Use Plan is the primary set of land use policies that define our vision of how, when, and where growth, redevelopment, and preservation should occur throughout the county,” said Olmsted County Planning Director Ben Griffith. “Successful implementation of this plan results in the wise use of land and resources available to the community. We invite the public to learn more about this process by reviewing these materials and sharing input.”

There also be a public information session about the General Land Use Plan on June 16. It will be held at the Government Center in downtown Rochester beginning at 6:30 PM. A virtual option will also be available. The news release says County residents will also have the ability to submit questions and feedback through the General Land Use Plan webpage.
