Rochester, MN  (KROC-AM News) - A St. Cloud man was arrested early Sunday - after leading authorities on a chase that began in rural Rochester and ended miles away in the city.

The incident began as a “careless motorist” call in the area of Cottonwood Dr and 40th Ave SE. An officer tried to make a traffic stop but the driver took off on Marion Rd. The officer broke off the chase but a few minutes later the vehicle was spotted near Olmsted Medical Center Hospital. The driver turned into a cul-de-sac and when he saw the squad car, he drove right at it. He then took off at a high rate of speed and the officer lost sight of him.

Several minutes later the vehicle was spotted near the Miracle Mile Shopping Center. A county deputy rammed his SUV into the rear of the vehicle and its rear tires went flat - and the chase was over.

Arrested was 22-year-old Conrad Jopp.
