Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but it's also apparently known for having some naughty-sounding names for certain cities and towns.

Every state, from Minnesota here in the north to Louisiana down south and from New York on the east coast to California in the west, is filled with tons of unique city and town names. Many of these also contain special and unique pronunciations that you only know how to say if you were born there-- or have lived there for a while.

The North Star State is no exception. According to the Secretary of State's office, the state of Minnesota currently has approximately 1,784 towns located throughout the state. Meanwhile, there are currently 854 cities in the Gopher State, which adds up to a total of 2,638 different municipalities-- all of which have their own names.
