One Killed, Three Hurt In Separate Crashes In Freeborn County
Albert Lea, MN (KROC AM News) - One person was killed and three others were hurt in separate traffic crashes in Freeborn County Monday.
The first crash occurred around 5:45 pm on I-90 when a car driven by 21-year-old Abigail Quelle of Lyle lost control and rolled in the median. She and a passenger - 20-year-old Caleb Quelle of Lyle - were taken to Albert Lea hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The deadly wreck occurred around 6:00 pm on I-35 near Clarks Grove and involved two semi-trucks.
The State Patrol says one of the rigs jackknifed and the second truck slammed into its trailer. The driver of the second truck was fatally injured. He was identified as 62-year-old Bradley Oachs of Rosemount. The other driver was identified as 34-year-old Korane Mohamud of Minneapolis. The State Patrol says he and a passenger - Mahamed Mahmoud of Lexington, Nebraska - were not injured.
The third crash also occurred on I-35 near Clarks Grove around 10:00 pm when the driver of a vehicle lost control and rolled in the ditch. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was identified as 35-year-old Paw Ku of Austin.
The State Patrol is reporting ice and snow were on the roadways in all three crashes.
