(KROC-AM News) - One person was killed and two people were seriously injured in an alcohol-involved crash in Yellow Medicine County Friday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol crash report indicates a car was traveling north on Highway 75 in Norman Township while a pick-up truck was traveling south on the Highway when they collided near 190th Ave just after 7:30 p.m.

The driver of the pick-up, 42-year-old Steven Bednarek, and passenger, 42-year-old Sarah Bednarek, both of Canby, Minnesota suffered life-threatening injuries in the wreck. The two were transported to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The driver of the car was killed in the crash. She was identified as 32-year-old Maria Hanson of Hendricks, Minnesota. The state patrol accident report indicated she was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol was in her system at the time of the crash.
