Hibbing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Hibbing Police Department is reporting one of the three-year-old twins found locked inside a hot vehicle on Monday has died.

The young boy was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis in critical condition after he and his twin brother were found unresponsive inside the vehicle. The other twin has been discharged from a hospital in Duluth.

A news release issued Tuesday by the Hibbing Police Department indicated officers responded to a property late Monday afternoon after receiving a report that the twin boys were missing. Neighbors and police launched a search and a citizen found the boys about an hour and a half later. A Hibbing police officer then busted out a window in order to remove them from the hot interior of the vehicle.

In reporting the death of one of the children today, Hibbing police indicated the St. Louis County Attorney's office now has the investigative reports on the incident and is reviewing them to consider possible charges against the father.
