One Person Killed in Head-on Crash on Rural Southern MN Highway
New Prague, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in south-central Minnesota responded to a fatal traffic crash Thursday afternoon.
LeSueur County Sheriff Brett Mason says it involved a passenger car and a pickup that collided on a rural road in an area just east of New Prague. The deadly incident occurred shortly before 3 PM.
The Sheriff's news release says 35-year-old Kyle Wayne Peterson of Bethel was driving the car north on LeSueur County Road 3 when the vehicle crossed over the center line and smashed head-on into the southbound pickup. The passenger in Peterson's car suffered fatal injuries and later died at a hospital in New Prague. He was identified as 72-year-old Ronald Allan Otterstrom of Shoreview.
30-year-old Adam Walcholz of New Richland was driving the pickup. He and his passenger, 31-year-old Whitney Wacholz, were transported to the hospital in New Prague with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Mason says the deadly incident remains under investigation.
