Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Open House style meeting will take place this afternoon in Rochester to provide citizens with information and an opportunity to discuss the still developing plans for the reconstruction of Olmsted County State Aid Highway 9 on the east edge of Rochester next year. The roadway, which is also known as 4th Street Southeast and Collegeview Road, runs past the Olmsted Medical Hospital, the RCTC Heintz Center and the Federal Medical Center.

The Olmsted County Public Works Department, working with the City of Rochester, is developing plans the reconstruction of the road from 19th Avenue Southeast to the intersection with East Circle Drive. The project will include removing pavement, grading, installing culverts and storm sewer infrastructure and a new concrete surface. Upgrades to the intersections with the roadway, along with safety upgrades for bike and pedestrian traffic, are also being proposed.

The meeting will run from 4-6 PM at the Olmsted County Public Health Building on the County Campus near RCTC.
