When is the New Pool Planning to Open in Rochester, Minnesota?

According to a story at KTTC on March 18th, 2024, the timeline to open the pool at Soldier's Field is either towards the end of May or the earlier dates in June.  When I hear the official opening day for the new pool, I'll have that info on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.

Will This Solve The Issue With Finding Swimming Lessons in the Rochester Area?

Many individuals in our community have expressed concern for years about the lack of pools and areas for swimming lessons in Rochester.  Most think that this issue happened solely due to the Rochester Area Family YMCA closing.  What most don't realize is that families from the Rochester area were driving to surrounding towns for lessons even prior to the closing.  Being a staff member at the YMCA and a parent myself, I had trouble getting my own kids signed up for lessons at the YMCA before they filled up.  Hopefully this new upgrade will help alleviate this concern for families, but my guess is that we will still have families that will need to schedule and drive to other towns for lessons.
