According to a City of Faribault Police Department news release on Sunday, April 7th at about 6:17 pm, the Faribault Police Department took a report from a juvenile female of an attempted assault that took place in the area of 14th St NE at the bike trail crossing.

The news release went on to say that the victim reported two African American males emerged from the wooded area and grabbed a hold of her. The victim struggled with the men, who then fled the area on foot. The victim ran to a relative’s residence nearby and contacted law enforcement. Officers responded immediately and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
Suspect one has been described as a black male, 5’7” tall, slender build, wearing a red sweater and black pants, and had braided hair.

Suspect two has been described as a black male, 5’4” tall, curly hair, wearing a blue shirt, white pants, and black and white shoes. One of the males had braided hair, and the other had curly hair. The victim reported the two males were each armed with handguns.
The victim also reported that a male driving eastbound on 14th Street NE in a newer red SUV stopped, which caused the suspects to flee. Detectives would also like to speak with this witness.
