
Police in Austin Responded to Weekend Shooting

Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Police in Austin are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday.
Police Chief David McKichan says officers responded to reports of a fight in the 1000 block of 9th Avenue Southwest near the Mower County Fairgrounds around 3 AM Sunday and were told that shots may have been fired. He says spent shell casings were found in the area and a handgun was located on the ground underneath a car.

The responding officers found some people had already fled from the scene. They also questioned and then released multiple individuals who had remained at the location.
So far, no injuries have been reported to the Austin Police Department.
