Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - (UPDATE)  Albert Lea Police are reporting the stand-off involving an active shooting situation at an apartment complex this morning ended just before 11 AM with the arrest of a 21-year-old man. A statement indicated the building was being evacuated to process the crime scene. The suspect was identified as Devin Weiland.

People living in the vicinity of an Albert Lea apartment complex are being told to shelter in place because of an active shooter situation.

The Albert Lea Police Department says officers responded to a noise complaint about fireworks or gunshots in the 800 block of 4th Avenue South around 2:15 Sunday morning and were ambushed by a shooter. a news release says one officer was shot in the chest and at least two bullets struck the officer’s squad car. The wounded officer, who is 30-years old, was able to move to a safe location and drive to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Albert Lea, where the officer was treated and released.

Two other adult men, ages 52 and 38,  were also found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. Albert Lea police say both victims were taken to the Albert Lea hospital and the 52-year-old man was airlifted to St. Mary's hospital in Rochester.
