It's been a classic restaurant in the Land of 10,000 Lakes for nearly 40 years and now this Minnesota eatery has just been named the best steakhouse in the entire state.

While we may disagree about many things, there one thing that seems to unite much of the country: We like a good steak. And, here in the U.S., we eat a LOT of steak: Americans consumed 27.6 billion pounds of beef in 2020, according to the US Department of Agriculture. The United States accounted for 21.2% of all the beef consumed worldwide, this Fox News story said.

So, it's not exactly a surprise that Minnesotans like to dine on a good steak, right? In fact, steak is a popular meal not just here in the North Star State but across the country. According to a survey in this Fox News story, steak is America's favorite meal. And, steak is also what nearly 66 percent of Americans say they would have as their LAST meal too.

Of course, you can get a steak at a lot of different places across the Bold North, from both local restaurants and chains like Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, Pittsburgh Blue Steakhouse, or Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. (By the way, click HERE to see why Ruth's Chris has such an usual name!) But one Minnesota restaurant is now being called the best steakhouse in the entire Gopher State.

According to the Taste of Home Best Steakhouse in Every State survey, Manny's Steakhouse, on Marquette Avenue in Minneapolis is the best steakhouse in Minnesota. Here's what their survey said about the restaurant that's been a fixture in Minnesota's biggest city for nearly 40 years:

Minnesotans know that Manny’s deserves a place on any top steakhouse list. You’ll find the basics here like porterhouses and New York strips, but Manny’s also serves up some less common cuts like baseball steak—a gorgeously marbled portion of the sirloin—and the famous Bludgeon of Beef. This 50-ounce dry-aged Tomahawk steak is not for the faint of heart, but it’s worth checking out for serious carnivores.

Manny's has routinely been named as one of the best steakhouses not just here but in the entire country and has even been called one of the best steakhouses in the world. I've been lucky enough to have had a steak there, and, yeah, it was pretty amazing.

Of course, Minnesota (and more specifically, Minneapolis) is home to another classic steakhouse, as well. And while it wasn't mentioned in this survey, Murray's on South 6th Street in Minneapolis has also garnered many votes as one of the best steakhouses around Minnesota.

I've been past Murray's classic neon sign and facade several times while in Minneapolis, but I haven't had a steak there... at least, not yet, that is.
