Brooklyn Center, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in a Twin Cities suburb are investigating a possibly politically motivated suspicious fire.

Brooklyn Center Police say officers and Brooklyn Center firefighters responded around 4 AM to a report of an explosion in a residential neighborhood. When they arrived at the scene, they found a detached garage on fire. The structure and three vehicles were destroyed but there were no injuries and there was only minor damage to the nearby home. The firefighters also managed to save three dogs and four puppies kept in kennels inside the garage.

Investigators say the fire is considered suspicious. They note the occupants of the residence had a fairly large "Trump 2020" sign in the yard that had been destroyed and the responding police officers saw what appeared to be fresh spray paint on the garage door before it was consumed by the flames. The graffiti read, "Biden 2020", "BLM", and the capital letter A with a circle around it.

The FBI, ATF, and the State Fire Marshal Office are assisting with the investigation.
