Public Encouraged to Attend Rochester Veterans Day Program
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Federal, state, and local government offices are mainly closed today for the observance of Veterans Day but local veterans will be honored tomorrow on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
The local Veterans Day program will take place at the International Event Center near the Rochester Airport and will begin with a free breakfast courtesy of Powers Ventures from 8:30 until 10 AM. The program honoring military veterans in the Rochester area begins at 10:30.
Rochester State Senator Carla Nelson will be the main speaker with State Senator Chad Stowers, a 23-year Army Veteran, serving as the emcee. Singer Brad Boice and others will perform, including several color guards.
Organizers say the annual event is free and members of the general public are encouraged to attend and honor local veterans.
