Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - City planners continue working on a long-range plan for the future of Rochester’s Silver Lake and are now asking the public to weigh in.

One of the major features of the plan is the removal of the dam. It would lead to a transformation of the body of water from a large pond to a series of drop basins or rock clusters.

The plan also proposes a new pedestrian bridge near Broadway and an enhanced trail system.

If the plan wins final approval, it’s expected the work would be done during the next dredging project at the site.
The City of Rochester has launched a Virtual Open House and Public Engagement Portal for the project.
