Record Warmth in Rochester on Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It feels like the beginning of spring.
The National Weather Service is reporting that Rochester set a new weather record this afternoon when the temperature peaked at 46-degrees out the Rochester Airport. The southern new record high for January 29. The previous record was set in 1944 at 44-degrees.
Forecasters say more warm weather is expected through the week. While the high-temperature tomorrow is expected to reach 40-degrees, it is expected to warm to nearly 50-degrees on Wednesday. After that, high temperatures in the low to mid-40s are forecast through next Monday.
Looking ahead, there is the potential for another record high on Wednesday. The current record is 48° and was set in 1989. Thursday through next Monday it's unlikely it will be warm enough to topple the existing records, which are all in the upper 40s or low 50s.
