Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest reports from Red Wing indicate police have apprehended a suspect in an early morning shooting.

Officials have only said the person was taken into custody after a police tactical team stormed a residence that had been surrounded by police for several hours. The shooting was reported around 2:30 AM and the victim was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital. At this point, no information has been released about the person’s medical condition.

Red Wing officials say the “red alert” issued for the neighborhood where the shooting took place has been lifted and the barricades established in a number of intersections in the area have been cleared.

Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News) – At last report, police in Red Wing were searching for a suspect in an overnight shooting.

According to a release from the city, the shooting was reported around 2:30 AM Tuesday. The city says the victim was airlifted to Rochester St. Marys Hospital in unknown medical condition.

The Red Wing Police Dept. issued a Code Red for the neighborhood where the shooting occurred and residents were asked to stay indoors until further notice. It’s believed the shooting suspect is barricaded within the police perimeter that was set up.

As of 6:30 AM Tuesday, the suspect was still at large.
