Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Olmsted County homeowners are being reminded about a low-interest loan program for home improvements.

And repayment is delayed until the house is sold.

The Home Rehabilitation Loan Program provides loans to residents to make improvements related to health, safety and energy efficiency. Loans of $5,000 - $25,000 (at 2% interest) are available.

Recipients must be the owner of the household, have lived in the home for at least 6 months, and meet income qualifications based on working adults aged 18 years of age or older living in the home. The income guidelines for the program are based on HUD Section 8 housing income limits, which are 80% of the annual median income for a given area.

Those interested in the program are encouraged to check it out as soon as possible as it has proven to be very popular. It’s a first-come, first-served program that has a current waiting list of 6 months.
